YOU'RE POPPING THE QUESTION!
I understand how important this moment is so below are the details on what is included in a proposal session.
planning assistance
For whenever you're unsure on what to do, I'm here to help. I'm the type of person who won't always say, "this is best" because each couple is different. Instead, I'll provide guidance for your proposal in a way that it will still feel genuine to you and your future life-partner. Planning also includes scouting your proposal area prior to the session, and time communicating with anyone involved in your proposal.
post-proposal session
After the proposal, which will, of course, be documented, and assuming your person says "YES!", we'll do some post-proposal photos! It's a great way to celebrate your new chapter together.
The post-proposal session will be 75-minutes long.
edited photographs
You'll receive 5 edited sneak peeks within 36 hours after we're done with your proposal session, and then the full gallery will be completed in 8 weeks. All your edited photos will be uploaded to a password-protected online gallery.
four 8"x12" prints
Prints are the perfect way to show off these memories in your home. You will have the choice to either select your own prints, or I can select them for you. The prints will be sized at 8"x12" and they'll be mounted on to an 11"x14" white gallery mat for a beautiful presentation (so get those 11"x14" frames ready!).
service starts at $1,500
Proposals on weekends start at $2,000
the process:
1. inquire
Tap the "Inquire here" button below and provide as much information about your proposal. The more I know ahead of time, the better.
2. consultation
I require a consultation/discovery call with every potential client. These calls give us a chance to get to know each other more, for me to know you and your partner more, to discuss your vision for your proposal, and cover questions.
3. book
If all sounds good and we're a great fit, next is booking! I require a 50% non-refundable retainer + a signed contract for official booking. The remaining balance is due 1 week before your proposal.
4. plan
During the planning process, I'll guide you through what needs to be done, scout your proposal location (if needed) and contact people (if needed). If possible, we'll have one final call about 2 weeks before your proposal to make sure we're on the same page.
5. photography
It's proposal day! I'll be at your proposal site about 60 minutes (maybe more if setup is required) prior to your planned proposal time. I'll be photographing the details and the landscape of your proposal spot and, if anyone else is involved in the proposal, make sure additional parties are set and ready to go.
6. PHOTO DELIVERY
You'll receive 5 edited sneak peeks 36-hours after the end of your proposal session, and then the full gallery delivered in 8 weeks. Sneak peeks will either be emailed or texted to you (very likely texted to you so that you have them ready on your phone), and your full gallery will be delivered via email.
7. print selection & delivery
After receiving your full gallery, you'll have the choice to either select your 4 prints or I select them for you. After getting your 4 photos professionally printed and mounted on to the gallery mat, I'll then mail it to the mailing address you provide me in your questionnaire.
FAQ
Why is proposal pricing different than engagement pricing?
Pricing for proposals is different because it requires more planning and time than a regular engagement session.
Is proposal setup included in your pricing?
Short answer - no. If you need me to do any setup for your proposal, that will be an additional fee as it'll be extra time for me to arrive early onsite and set up.
If there are any props you need me to get, the props will be added to your photography invoice.
what should I wear?
I always recommend dressing up in whatever makes you and your partner feel comfortable. If you need outfit suggestion, I am more than happy to help!
Where should I propose?
I like to suggest places or areas that have a lot of meaning to you. In the city you first met, your favorite scenery like the beach or a forest, or even your own home! These are just some ideas. Or, it can be somewhere that just looks awesome - nothing wrong with doing a proposal at a place that has no meaning other than it being a place you've always wanted to go to!
Please note: there is an additional fee for sessions that are more than 90 miles outside of Union City, CA.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm currently based in Alameda County (specifically Union City, CA), but I'm available to travel up to 90 miles with no additional mileage fees. For locations that are over 90 miles, there will be additional fees.
can i bring my dog?
I love pets! If you'd like your pet to be part of your proposal - why not! As long as you're okay with how your pet behaves during your proposal and session, then I'm game. I do suggest having at least 1 helper if you do bring your pet along.
When will we get our photos & how many pictures will we receive?
Your edited sneak peeks will be ready in 36 hours and texted to you, and your full gallery will be ready in 8 weeks and emailed to you. You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and order prints!
You'll receive about 100 photos (sometimes more!) that best tells the story of your proposal.
do we also get a usb for engagement, proposal, bridal, & portrait sessions?
If you have me as your wedding photographer, your engagement & bridal session photos will be included in the USB that comes with your wedding package.
If you book me for only these sessions (so not including a wedding), a USB is NOT included since the final delivery is smaller in quantity and can be easily downloaded from your online gallery, compared to wedding photos. But if you would like to purchase an heirloom USB, it's an additional $75.
What if my partner says "No"?
My hope is this does NOT HAPPEN. But, in the extremely slim chance it does, you can receive a partial refund. This will be covered in my contract.
important Things to know:
If a permit of any sort is required at your proposal location and I, the vendor, has to apply and cover the cost of the permit, please note that permit fees are NOT covered in my pricing and that fee will be added to your photography invoice.
If you plan to propose at a winery, many wineries don't allow professional photography/photographers. Please check that the winery you are proposing at allows professional photographers/photography.
